ENCHANTED MOUNTAIN
Kaunas State Puppet Theatre I Lithuania

People of different religions, beliefs and customs spend their days from dusk till dawn at the foot of the mountain, not being able to decide whose religion is more important and whose God is mightier. One day a tiny flame appears on top of the mountain, starting a rumour that anyone brave enough to touch it with his bare hand will bring happiness to all the people till the end of days. People of all nations rush towards the heaven-high mountain top, abandoning their homes, their children and parents. Immense desire to touch this Flame of Happiness forces neighbours that could not stop fighting with each other to forget their quarrels and unite in order to reach the same goal. Although, the creators of this performance have a surprise for the audience and are not going to give the spectators some predictable ending…
This cinematographic story told through a series of images and spiced up with some comic situations and a dash of irony analyzes the concept of tolerance, emphasizes respect towards other points of view, lifestyles, cultures and nations without forgetting your own roots and identity.
