Figurentheater Wilde & Vogel
In 1997 the musician Charlotte Wilde and the puppeteer and puppet maker Michael Vogel started their company, first in Stuttgart, and since 2003 in Leipzig where Wilde & Vogel co-founded the International Centre for Animated Theatre Westflügel.
Puppetry and live music are the artistic means of Wilde & Vogel’s theatre. Themes and dramatic material for the productions are manifold. They are always in search of the adequate
means of expression, seeking to open room for imagination beyond the visible. Apart from classical drama (‘Hamlet’, ‘Faust’, ‘Orpheus’, ‘Salomé’) and adaptations of novels (‘Krabat’, ‘The Hobbit’, ‘Frankenstein’) as well as musical material (‘Toccata’) or poetry (‘Spleen’, ‘Songs for Alice’) they have also made shows on original devised themes (‘Siberia’, ‘The Sensibility of the Giants’, ‘Dust’, ‘Kukułka’). Cooperation with directors and colleagues
from different artistic fields is essential for Wilde & Vogel, along with international productions.
Golden Delicious
A duo of an object performer and actress Inbal Yomtovian and a director and performer Ari Teperberg. Both studied at the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem and toured Europe with their successful performance ‘Jonathan and the Blue Table’. Together they create characters, stories, images and creatures with an engaging, comic perspective, using a handful of objects with a delicate touch. ‘We create our theatre at home, in the kitchen or in the living room, using our personal belongings. We play with whatever comes to hand.’ The works of the team combine pure playfulness and virtuous precision, carrying away the audiences with their inventive liveliness. There is no illusion, not for one moment, but one nevertheless absolutely believes.
