Gintarė Radvilavičiūtė
A puppet theatre director and stage designer notable for her unique artistic character, authentic directorial choices, inclination to experiment and search for new theatrical forms. In 1999-2006 she studied theatre directing at Klaipėda University. Since 2004 she is working at Klaipėda Puppet Theatre as an artistic director, director and stage designer. Her works were presented at the international festivals in Germany, Norway, Poland, Estonia, Ireland, Sweden, and other. In 2014 she was granted the most important Lithuanian theatre award the Golden Stage Cross for her puppet theatre performance for adults ‘The Sandman’ after E. T. A. Hoffmann.
Klaipėda Puppet Theatre is a modern repertoire puppet theatre famous for its unique modern performances and projects for children, teenagers and adults. The creators working in this theatre are students of the puppetry school that was established in 1991 in Klaipėda University, raised by the founders of Klaipėda Puppets – Jūratė Januškevičiūtė, Linas Zubė, Salomėja Burneikaitė. Klaipėda Puppet Theatre puppeteers continue to experiment and search for new means of artistic communication and forms of plasticity, introduce Klaipėda and Klaipėda region audience to traditional art of puppetry as well as to its modern trends, help developing intellectual and cultural knowledge of children and teenagers, influence their system of values. According to theatre theorists, Klaipėda puppet theatre is one of the most noticeable and ambitious puppet theatres in Lithuania.
